OVERVIEW
CamelBak x Autodesk (Fusion 360) x AAU
In this corporate-sponsored project, CamelBak partnered with students from the Academy of Art University (AAU) to form 7 interdisciplinary teams. Their goal was to create a product for the target consumer that would be suitable for both outdoor and everyday use. I was chosen by the Interaction & UI/UX Design Department to represent AAU and collaborate on CamelBak's concept brief.

TEAM VITALITY
We are Team "TrüBottle," comprising three members - 2 Industrial Designers and 1 UI/UX Designer (myself).
As a UI/UX Designer on my team, I developed the mobile app and championed a user-centered design approach.
THE CHALLENGE
VSS EVERYDAY & OUTDOOR OBJECTS
Harnessing the benefits of Vacuum Stainless Steel (VSS) technology, design a product that can be used in the outdoors or in everyday life by the target consumer. Create something that makes their life easier and adds value to their experience.
PROBLEM
RESEARCH
Survey | Key insights
We initiated a preliminary survey to pinpoint the main challenges, wants, and needs related to water bottle usage. Furthermore, our goal was to uncover the sought-after features that users expect when utilizing a mobile app synced with the bottle. We collected 35 survey responses.
Challenges
57% - Losing the bottle.
51% - Difficult to clean.
31% - Coating wears out.
Desired Features
54% - Temperature indicator.
46% - Hydration reminder.
45% - Heating up function.
COMPETITORS
OUR SOLUTION
Create a smart water bottle that connects with a mobile app to monitor your water consumption, warm the bottle, and enable users to participate in group challenges for motivation to enhance their hydration levels. The embedded sensors activate an LED display, providing regular reminders to drink water.

Brainstorming
We began by exploring 10 different smart bottle designs and sought feedback to help us refine our approach. After receiving input, we decided to incorporate a heating function along with a challenge feature, enabling users to join group challenges for motivation and mutual encouragement.
